Two Best in Class Wines – A Beautiful Afternoon at Chateau Merrill Anne

We had such a wonderful afternoon last week at Chateau Merrill Anne celebrating the ASWA 2025 Wine Competition awards, and we’re still smiling about it. This year, we’re incredibly honored to share that we received two Best in Class awards:

Pinot Grigio – Best in Class across all Pinot Grigios submitted from the 17-state Atlantic Seaboard Wine Association region
Family White Lot 25 – Best in Class for all white interspecific blends (a blend of vinifera, hybrid, and American grape varieties)

It was a special moment seeing both wines recognized among such an impressive group of producers from across the region.

Our owners, Brian and Sandy, spent the afternoon catching up with old friends, meeting new ones, and celebrating alongside so many talented winemakers. As they shared, “There’s something really rewarding about being in a room full of people who all share the same passion and dedication to what’s in the glass.”

It was also special to hear Grant share how impressed industry members were in California at UC Davis and The Eastern Winery Exposition, where Best in Class selections were poured and shared among trade professionals.

We’re especially grateful to our consultant, Tom Payette, and to every single employee and volunteer who helps make achievements like this possible. Wine is never a solo effort—it’s truly a full team behind every bottle. We are truly honored, grateful, and excited for what’s ahead. Cheers to great wine, great people, and moments like these.
